Angling Safaris in Corbett National
Park: Right
outside and flowing into Corbett Tiger Reserve, the
Western Ramganga is a classic springfed mahseer river.
This is one of the few rivers where a Grand Slam of
Mahseer, Indian Trout and Goonch is possible in the same
day- you just need to get away from the pet fish and
resort side pools. Combine a trip to the park to complete
the Indian jungle experience- it's not unusual to fish
alongside tigers sometimes. Best fishing, early February
till early June and then October till mid-November.
Eastern Ramganga Big, fast mahseer. Not fishable without a
planned expedition, the righteous Eastern Ramganga
itinerary takes one along pools fished maybe twice a year.
The fishing is preserved by lack of habitation and its
ills. This trip is not for the slight of constitution or
the short of time. Balaghat gorge is our personal
favourite- this is one of those places where the biggest
fish are always seen but never seem to take. One of these
days one of us is going to get really lucky and possibly,
even land a record fish. Best fishing, March till early
June and then in end September till late October,
depending on the rains.
Itinerary for Fishing and Angling in
Jim Corbett Park:
Fishing and angling at various rivers is an adventurous
sport. At present you can enjoy these two sports in
various wildlife sanctuaries. Corbett park is the famous
and well known wildlife reserve which provide Fishing and
Angling along with the variety of wildlife. In Corbett
Mahasheer fishing is a place where you can easily find
Goonch, Silver Mahaseer and the Black Mahaseer, althuogh
fishing is not allowed at here now. In corbett area
fishing are allowed at Bhikiasen & Pancheshwar with
special permission from forest officials:
Items you must bring with you for fishing in corbett area
are rucksack, straw hats, sunglasses, keds, waders,
antiseptic creams, insect repellents, windcheaters, gloves
and suntan other than fishing equipments.

Day - 01 : Delhi: Arrive Delhi. Overnight in Delhi.
Day - 02 : Drive to Jim Corbett National Park
Embark on a seven hour drive to a Jungle Lodge near Jim
Corbett National Park on the bank of Kosi River.
Day - 03 : Ramganga River ( Jeep Safari )
Morning Jeep Safari to the Park, after breakfast move for
Fishing ( Angling) on the Ramganga river. Overnight at the
Camping/ Village stay.
Day - 04 : Ramganga River -Fishing
Full Day Fishing on the Ramganga river. Overnight Camping/
Village stay.
Day - 05 : Corbett Park- Elephant Safari
Early morning walks and then drive to Corbett Park, reach
around lunch, evening elephant safari, overnight at Jungle
Lodge near Corbett Park.
Day - 06 : Pancheshwar
Early morning drive to Pancheshwar, reach Pancheshwar in
the evening, the confluence of the Sarda and Saryu rivers
at Pancheshwar (approx. 6 hours). evening at leisure.
Overnight at Pancheshwar in tented camp.
Day - 07 : Sarda & Saryu rivers - Pancheshwar
Fish for the Mahaseer at the confluence. Overnight at
Pancheshwar.
Day - 08 : Sarda & Saryu rivers - Pancheshwar
Fish for the Mahaseer at the confluence. Overnight at
Pancheshwar.
Day - 09 : Delhi Drive back to Delhi.
